Operations
The steps of handling crude oil and its derivatives are:
- reception of the ship
- control of the ship’s compliance with safety requirements (in collaboration with the Coast Guard Officials)
- connection to the ship to loading arms and start of the unloading/loading operations
- monitoring of the operations’ regularity and safety
- ship detachment from the loading arms and securing the lines
Porto Petroli most operations consist in unloading products. The current amount of oil products is about 15 million tons per year, transported by an average of 500 ships of various payload.
